O2 - Blade of Vengeance

I've been running this "one DM, one player" module, having been the player, now passing it on (which is always a great way to run a module; I think it's easier when you've "been there").

TSR UK and Jim Bambra really did a great job on this module, which is a bit of a railroad, but what you get in return is a story, a veteran character to inhabit, motivation, and lots and lots of rewards. But it's still D&D, lots of fun combat encounters as well as riddles (and a mechanic whereby the character might solve them if the player cannot, and eventually a deus ex machina to rescue you if you wander too long, though by then half the forest is dead.)

This corner of Mystaran Alfheim is brought to life, and the character is immediately involved. The illustrations of Jeremy Goodwin give it a weird, fantastic, folklorish tone.

I recommend this to anyone who has time to play, but only one person to play with.
