In my experience, which is mostly running Classic Modules with AD&D, rather than the reverse, I just ran them as-is without really doing any conversion. I can't think of much you would have to do the other way, except treat AC 10 as AC 9, since Classic doesn't have AC 10. Most other things I think you could just figure out on the fly.

I was interested in running Thunder Rift, but have never picked it up. It always looked intriguing! Keep us updated on what you decide to do.

Don't have my 3rd editions books, or .pdfs for them, so checked my PF .pdfs. It has an optional rule that if a character takes half their total hitpoints in one attack (minimum of 50) they must make a Fortitude save or die.

Seems like PF made that rule a bit better. Won't work on low level creatures that would just outright die anyway, but tougher monsters and characters will need at least 50 HP, or half their total HP in one hit. That seems to fix some of the issues you were seeing with the rule SK!

Have you looked at AD&D 3e? Not sure if it fits the bill or not. ACKs I believe has skills and feats and is similar to BECMI. Castles & Crusades maybe?

Shiftkitty are you talking about 5e? I am out of town at the moment so don't have any access to my books. I'd think the massive damage rule applies to players taking damage rather than monsters, but I don't think the rule is 50 HPs of damage for PCs.

I think Advanced and Classic modules are pretty compatible with whichever version you decide on. The modules I can think of off the top of my mind that are connected are T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil, A1-4 slavelord series, and the GDQ series. I think the Saltmarsh series has some modules connected as well? These are all for AD&D, but you could easily run it with BECMI or LL or whatever you decided.

My copy of BLUEHOLME™ arrived today! Wow the hardback and color cover look gorgeous. Excellent work Vile! Just flipping through it definitely gave me more excitement to run Holmes than I've ever had before.

I have not seen thorkie much recently, but my forum activity has been down quite a bit. Last I saw of him he was posting on ODD74 and the ruins of murkhill forums. I just checked RoM and he was active earlier this month. He was active on DF around the same time as well. I have him on skype, so if I see him pop up sometime soon, I'll throw him a shout. I know he regularly takes breaks for forums.

I definitely see social media taking over forums place. I see facebook groups, G+ pages, and reddit as strong centers of discussion and forums slowly dwindling. 5e being so widely accepted certainly hurts the case for the OSR, as I know many OSR folks are happy to run 5e for a wider audience and just tweak it for their style.

AM, welcome to CoC! One of my absolute favorite RPGs. I haven't ran it myself in a few years, but from the best of my memory, you count down sanity points from your max, not from 99. Don't get attached to characters, they will certainly go insane after awhile.

This was a good show guys! I always feel like C&C doesn't get spoken about much. I own it, but have never played or ran it myself. It has always looked like a good system, but I've never felt really drawn to it. I'm not sure why exactly. I'll need to go through it again.
