Title: New versions of B1 and B2
Post by: Fjw70 on March 28, 2017, 11:30:40 AM
Goodman games has announced they will be doing hardcover editions of both B1 and B2

Quote
These editions will include the adventures as orginally printed, complete conversions of the modules to the 5E ruleset, new 5E content, and behind-the-scenes historical content!

I wondered what they would do to pad out 32-page modules that used to come in folders into enough content to justify a hardback price.

It is interesting that WotC is licensing this kind of thing to Goodman.

Yeah! Can't wait for these. Maybe do a review of them on my 5e Podcast.

Wow, awesome! Definitely looking forward to this! Any idea when these are supposed to be released?

I imagine tons of illustrations, maps of individual rooms to go along with the over all maps, repetitious stat blocks, lengthy sections telling DMs how to set up each encounter, though I would be surprised if they wasted much space. GG has made some pretty decent stuff.

B1 will finally have the Tower as well, as Goodman posted in their last update.

I was adding one using Dungeonographer.  It has no doorway at ground level, instead, there is a spiral staircase in it's center, that leads up, located in that solid area near the Guard's Bunk Room.

There is also a lift for hauling stones and arrows for a catapult or trebuchet and bows, up to the top of the tower.

You could make the tower's first floor solid stone with openings just for the spiral staircase and lift if you want. Then there would be  4 floors for storing stuff and some bunks for guards.

On the top of the tower, would be the only ways in from outside... Trapdoor for the staircase and the mechanism for the lift.

Oh, also I added another floor above the main entrance and main entrance hallways, so that guards can shoot down arrows and pour down hot liquids through murder holes.
