20 ft. per square is about right for the village maps; 40 ft. per square for the Boldon. The common rectangular houses are about 20' x30'.
The regional map is a bit smaller than 10 miles per square. The entire page is ~25 miles across (Woodbluff to Maria)

Thx for the link. I had the zip that was missing G6 but had the G4-9 bundled PDF.
Now I have them in a preferred format.

I am with you, complete the 1e or Classic D&D feel by going back to the 16-32 page adventures that were loosely or tightly connected.

I stick with Human, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-elf (but not 100% convinced), Half-orc (90% sure I will remove them too). I like the classic races. The others belong in very specific worlds or in Planescape.

The system works, it is not perfect. Definitely see how things are supposed to work before tweaking, you may find the tweaks are not needed.

I know that watching the game develop over the playtest's 13 iterations, I saw the need for multiclass diminish every iteration with class specializations, for example. However, multiclass is still there for the people who's vision is not covered by class and specialization.

General Discussion / Re: What is Old School ?
« on: March 25, 2016, 06:16:55 AM »
The definition is personal, and there is no universally accepted one.
Generally, it concerns games that evoke memories of the older versions of a game before splatbooks and 1,000,000s of character options replaced the openness with complexity and rules for every situation. There is a style for everyone, but with complexity replacing openness the last 15-20 years, people began looking back and recreating those experiences

At last count about half had taken delivery. I will allow them exclusivity for 2 weeks, and will release to the general public on April 4th.
The PDF will be $9.99 and will include a 2nd PDF that collects all of the art and maps in a format easy to use at the table. (One map or image per page)

Dark Naga / PDF file for 5e/OSR edition is finished
« on: March 18, 2016, 05:10:05 PM »
And is being distributed to backers this weekend.
I am not certain when the print run will occur, or the general availability of PDF, or PoD or the Pathfinder PDF or PoD's. But they are all in the works.

Also, there is a bonus waiting at backerkit for all backers. A little thank you from Adventure A Week.com

Over the next few months, expect to see 5e/OSR PDF, Pathfinder PDF, Both in a bundle, 5e/OSR PoD, Pathfinder PoD versions of The Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil on your favorite OBS, Paizo and The Tabletop Library.

I have one section to edit (rearrange 700 words, maybe add some)
1 piece of art and 3 maps pending.
When all of that is done, I will be finalizing the PDF and uploading it to OBS
I estimate availability to backer within 2 days of getting the last of the pieces from Rick and Alyssa, and general availability a 4 or so days after backers have had some exclusivity time.

so 1 week for Backer availability; 2 weeks for general availability.
Probably a month beyond GA for PoD availability.

Dark Naga / Backerkit for Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil

Tomorrow, the Backerkit surveys are going out to the backers.
I do not see a way for people to jump into the campaign via Backerkit, but I am checking.
The PDF's will be available via OBS (DrivethruRPG/RPGNow) about a week after I send the download coupons to the players.
The PoD version will not be identical in form to my backer print run because OBS doesn't support detached covers (at least not yet), however, it will be nice.

I may be able to extend the print run for those who prefer physical to digital and prefer the detached cover to the PoD version.

If that is you, PM me and we'll work something out

Edit: I found how to add backers. It is a manual process on my end. PM me if you wish to be added as a backer with the email address you use for DrivethruRPG/RPGNow

Dark Naga / First project for Dark Naga has completed it's funding.

I'd like to thank all the backers and all the people who spread the word. The Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil will be a great looking adventure, only because of the support you have provided.

If you have an issue or concern with anything please let me know. Customer Service is important to me.

What remains to be done:

OSR stats for the head priest, Cyne. Still not 100% content there. NPC descriptions from the backers who picked that reward are expected Tuesday. I expect to have them integrated by Friday.

I have prelim sketches for the maps. Final cartography is anticipated the week of St Patrick's Day. One piece of the initial art is contingent on a final map. That piece should follow a day or two behind that final map.

Stretch goal art is in progress. Both NPC portraits are delivered. The half page piece is almost done

Tomorrow, I am going to bundle all of the art so far into an illustration PDF. I plan to use this to get more familiar with OBS publishing, including POD. It will be updated when the last two pieces of are are delivered, so please consider waiting until then for POD orders. For backers who want a POD illustration book, it will be at cost. Codes will be supplied when all the twists and turns are successfully navigated.

Tomorrow, I am going to order the dice. Delivery is typically two weeks from payment.

Tomorrow , I am also going to setup backer kit. This will make fulfillment and adding items easier.

I have been working on layout of the adventure in InDesign with placeholders for the pending art and maps. I expect to have the NPC descriptions and OSR stats for Cyne integrated by Friday. Final layout is expected the week of March 21, which is also when funds should be released to me.

From there, the remaining steps are upload to OBS and distribute email coupons to backers, send print layout to printer for proof, examine proof, possible loop here, then place print order. The print order should take two weeks from clicking submit to delivery at my door. From there, fulfillment will begin. These steps are far enough out that dates are currently fuzzy. As they firm up, I will be more exact.

Maybe 3rd time is the charm.

The adventure has the party asked to explore a step pyramid, a zikurat, that has been uncovered by a clay strip mining operation. The zikurat is 80' tall and 120' at the base. The only entrance that can be seen is at the top of the zikurat.
When they enter, the party finds a trading nexus between the surface world and Formene (The Lands of Night). It was abandoned nearly 2000 years ago, and has been in lockdown ever since. It is a maze of trading stalls, offices and a main trading floor, with a blend of mechanical and magical locks and traps to protect the merchants from thieves. As the party explores they receive 2 messages. The first offers them a reward for reaching the underground apex of the pyramid where someone awaits them. The second message is a desperate plea for them to hurry, the mysterious person at their destination sounds like he is dying.

Full of puzzles, lore, locks and traps, this adventure caters to players who like to explore and interact over those who prefer combat. However, like all Dark Naga products, support for a more combat focused path is fully supported

no offense taken. I was having a bit of fun.
I'll write the plot again later today
Previous two attempts have ended in a "page cannot be displayed" and work lost response.
And I am hungry atm.
