I need to listen. I remember seeing the kickstarter, but wasn't sure at the time. i'm super curious about the changes he made.

Nice Teaman! I've been prepping OD&D and recreating the outdoor survival map in CC3+. I've played a B/X and Operation Whitebox game (with Pete Spahn). I have a buddy running a homebrew game for the long running anime One Piece. It has been great fun as well.

My mostly final version is here!

Ok, I finished it last night. The only thing I may update on it, is some of the deer locations from the original. I generally am okay with where I placed battles, but some of the other deer, I may instead change some to be small villages/hamlets. Since currently the only thing on the map are the big cities on the outside, and towns near the middle. Some smaller villages seem appropriate. I noticed I had missed one of the cities in the middle. So I made the middle most city different, and moved the one that was in its place to the west where I was missing one. No one controls the desert in the middle. I decided using the implied setting of OD&D as put together by Wayne Rossi, that the appearance of barsoomian creatures has drawn these 4 kingdoms into a fight for control of the area. Trying to discover new technology, gain dominance over new creatures, etc...

For anyone that ever wants a copy, I can easily turn off the grid or the political boundaries. Anything can be turned off, some things will be harder/easier to do so, so I will be more than happy to do some of it, but some requests I may just have to be honest and say it may require too much work.

Larger versions of maps are available upon request, I didn't want this post to be as obnoxious as the previous ones with the huge map.

I wanted to update that I have continued work on this. I've been uploading my progress as I go over at the odd74 forums, in the OD&D workshop area. Here is my work from last night (I've done some more since then, but not enough to be worthwhile making a whole new image out of it, its a big map so takes a good amount of time).

I ended up deciding the ponds on the maps would be rolled for as it says in U&WA of the lbbs. The deer would be ruins, notable monsters, battle grounds. the 4 cities near the center would match one of the 4 cities on the edge, making this whole map a hotly contested area by 4 kingdoms. I'm going with all the weirdness that Wayne Rossi's research on the implied OD&D setting would be using U&WA and Outdoor survival, so it is no wonder no one was captured the desert in the middle.

She is using schoology and zoom. She seems to have it figured out now. Her webcam on her laptop was broken caused an issue for awhile. I used Blackboard when doing my undergrad, and now use Canvas for seminary.

Sheltering in place, as per county requirements. Liz is working from home, which is what I do anyway. I was just telling her last night that except for her being around during the day its business as usual for me. ;)

DM (Good at keeping his schedule) Mike

Basically how it is going in my home. I normally work from home and my wife typically teaches, so now she has had to make the shift to teaching online.

I've been working on recreating the Outdoor Survival map in Campaign Cartographer 3+. I just started today. Started by getting the hexes set, and then manually filling where mountains, forests, swamps, deserts are on the map. I then started manually placing mountains on top (but not completely). I thought I'd share what I've started with y'all and to update on my progress.

I think the OSR will keep steady. I feel like I still continue to see it grow. I also feel like TTRPGs will stick around.

I am trying to think of the computer OSR. Will we have like VR with DM rulings over rules? How would that work. This is kind of an interesting thought process.

I think it is only a matter of time. VR has started, and is already quite impressive with some of the shooter games I have seen. I don't think it will be a whole lot longer before it is at a state like this.

Heidi & I will most certainly be there, assuming it isn't scheduled for a weird time next year. We check the NTRPG site daily to register. We'll definitely have to meet up again next year.

Yes, I saw y'all checking out BadMikes stuff while playing in the Discos game. I passed y'all in the hallway once, and gave a quick "Hi Mike, Hi Liz," but didn't actually have time to strike up a conversation.

I was at Black Blade on Friday, but bought all my stuff from them Saturday. I must have missed it. I've been looking at pulling the trigger on Colonial Troopers for a couple of years now. Maybe before next con.

Nice, sounds like y'all had a pretty well loaded Con.

Thursday I was supposed to play in Badmikes B1 game, but the traffic getting to Dallas was worse than expected so I was late, desperately needing dinner, and tired so I had to back out.

Friday and Saturday morning I was supposed to play in Pete Spahns WWII Operation Whitebox games, but he injured his back and couldn't make it.

Friday Afternoon I played Classic Traveller and had a blast. I had been wanting to play it forever and finally got a chance. He had us all boosted so we were jedi and obviously doing a star wars mission. It was a bunch of fun. Ended up winning a judges guild classic traveller supplement in the game.

Saturday my wife joined me to play D&D for the first time ever. We played Tegel Manor first and had a great time (my thief died from a trap and I rerolled a magic-user, Heidi survived!), and then we played in Carl Heyl's Discos & Dragons (we both played thieves and survived the whole time). I was very happy when we got back to the room and she asked me, "so you're signing me up for next year right!?"

As far as swag, I ended up buying all of the lbb style books for Avremier, and the dark tower reprint. I managed to pick up a free copy of Swords & Wizardry Light, and Carl gave us a little pocket light game he made up with his dad I believe.

I was at the black-blade booth and they had all of the other white box clones that are similar to Colonial Troopers but not that. I have also been wanting to pick that up!
