Save for Half Episode #1: "Doctor Who RPG by FASA"
No, this isn't episode 3 of Save for Half. Thanks to the powers of the Time Vortex (and our forgetting to do otherwise) we're going back in time to give you episode 1 of the Save for half podcast! DM Corbett joins the podcast posse of DMs Mike, Liz and Jim to discover the mysteries of time and space...according to the 1985 FASA edition of the game. Watch out for disorganized rules, tactical combat movement, and always those pesky daleks in this episode of Save for Half!

Hah, just couldn't leave Dr Who alone, could you? ;)
-
<heh> Of course not! Especially with DM Liz in the house!
Seriously (?)
since we accidentally did episode 2 last year we needed a ep1, and what better way to go back in time and review DW?

I don't see this on the Save or Die iTunes feed.
Has it been uploaded to that location?

Hey Longfoot!
Save for Half is no longer part of the SoD-podcast but is a independent podcast (part of Mudpuppy Multimedia*) so its got its own site (saveforhalf.com) and feed. Save or Die: Expert Edition is a separate show, still under WGPN.

* = At least, it will be until we come up with a nifty name for the podcast shell. ;)

DM Mike,
Thanks for the info. I see the feed on iTunes now. I downloaded and gave it a listen this morning.
Great show. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more shows.
Quick question: is there a new editing technique for the show? There seem to be many less gaps between speaking. Almost like you guys aren't even taking a breath between sentences. There are very few pauses. It doesn't sound bad, just different to my ears.
As always, the production quality of your podcast is A+. I really can't think of any other podcast, save for professional ones put out by corporations that are better.
Kudos to you and your group.

Yes, our new producer (DM Corbett) uses a software that auto-tightens shows by taking out excessive pauses. When I first heard it, it jarred me a bit as well but figured we'd put it out there to see fan reaction. Most seem to like it so I figured it was just that I wasn't used to it. ;)

For whatever my 2 cents is worth, I would vote to either take it out and not use it, or not tighten up so much, if that is an adjustable variable. If I had to describe it, I would say that it took more effort in listening.
Thanks

I don't mind excessive pauses. I prefer them to auto-tuned conversations. :)

I think a happy medium is possible, but it'll depend on DM Corbett's producing and what Audacity will let him do. I'm somewhat reassured though to hear that I'm not the only one who felt a little weird listening to the super-tight format. :)

8) I loved how you "went back in time" by reserving episode number 1 for this episode.
-
LOL Well, it was either Doctor Who or Timeship....so we went with the "good" one. ;)
