Thanks, Dizzy. I've  never played CoC before so I'm sort of nervous. It reads like a very logical game system. I was just trying understand the insanity. Yes, I've told my players not to think like hack & slash players but we'll see what they think.

AM, welcome to CoC! One of my absolute favorite RPGs. I haven't ran it myself in a few years, but from the best of my memory, you count down sanity points from your max, not from 99. Don't get attached to characters, they will certainly go insane after awhile.
General Discussion / Call of Cthulhu 6th ed. Sanity Question

I'm just dipping my toes into CoC, and I had a question about Sanity. I'm a little confused about the relationship between Cthulhu Mythos and starting Sanity Points. When I lose Sanity Points do I start deducting from my starting sanity points or from 99? My guess is starting sanity but reading the rules has me confused. I know Cthulhu Mythos increases (which also decreases my Sanity), but my Sanity can decrease without my CM increasing depending on the cause of my sanity loss.

Just wanted to make sure I understood.
Victorious / Villains & Vigilantes & Victorious

Tim S. over at the Other Side Blog had a great post Friday. He was essentially taking a Villains & Vigilantes (The Mighty Protectors) character and converting her to Victorious. Since the heroine Maxima is a time traveler anyway, it was easy enough to have her arrive in 1886 instead of her original destination of 1986. Give it a look!

Hm. I wonder if I could interest Mr. Dee in a crossover adventure?

Second Edition AD&D / Sekolah the Great Shark

Sekolah the Great Shark is the patron of the so-called Sea Devils, one of the greatest scourges of the deeps and the shallows. He did not create them, instead having adopted them as his chosen when he discovered them on one of his many great hunts among all the seas of the worlds, and molded them into the powerful and dangerous society they are today.
