General Discussion / Re: D&D Classics is now doing PoD

Wow did not know they did manage to get saddle stitch. Those look better than I expected. Might have to pick some of these up. I assume they're adding more to PoD each week?

They post on rpg.net when new stuff is available.

Someone else is running the 5e adventure (one of the rare times I am a player) and it is a home brew set in the Realms.

Just finished the SF part and they loved it and looks like it will be a regular part of our rotation.

You too.

No gaming today, but I do have a extended session planned for tomorrow with my new group (we are calling it (Thqnksgaming). I will be running a Star Frontiers one-shot (for now, maybe we will continue it) and then we will play our 5e campaign.

Star Frontiers / Any urban Star Frontier adventures?

I just joined a new RPG group and I have been asked to run a SF session. If t looks like the published adventures are all on primitive planets. Any urban adventures on industrialized planets?

Look at Peecho. I ordered a print-out of a PDF I bought from DriveThru. It looks really good and I found it an easy and inexpensive option.

Do you just upload the files or do you need your manipulate them in some way?

My issue is it doesn't seem they'll do removable cover, or stabled booklets as I don't think drivethru does either for printing options. Will just be perfect bound, making the maps (assuming they're on the inside cover?) difficult to use.

I'm interested to see how it comes out either way and will buy at least a couple regardless.

The non- covers are an issue. When getting the PoD you can get the PDF for a couple bucks more and could print out the maps. Not sure how I will like these but I'll give them a try.

Don't know about the quality. I have never ordered a PoD from them before. I hear it is pretty good.

Only a handful of products so far but it's a start. Here is the Hollow World boxed set.

The PoD isn't a boxed set and is all the material put into a single book.

General Discussion / Re: What editions are y'all playing?

I am playing 5e these days. I play on and off with the kids when we have time and I am joining a new adult group this Friday. I will be a player in this game (my first time as a player in 5e).

No, but I have framed the two greyhawks maps from the TSR boxed set.

First Edition AD&D / Re: Favorite House Rules
« on: September 04, 2016, 08:49:27 AM »
My group always used THAC0 for players, which I don't think is standard 1e, might have been from a Dragon or White Dwarf rule or perhaps in an adventure.

I know the Dragonlance modules used it and probably some others as well.

When I do play 1e (which has been a while now) I use some house rules inspired by later editions:

-- Acsending AC and BAB
-- using dex as the attack stat for light melee weapons

Things such as that.

Other Games / Re: ENWorld RPG System
« on: August 30, 2016, 04:31:35 AM »
So I recently heard about the N.E.W. Scifi system, and it sounded interesting. I then realized there is a fantasy and modern version by the same people based on EN World. Has anyone looked at these systems and what were your thoughts?

I picked up NEW and it looks interesting. The different genres are cross compatible. It is a d6 dice pool game. I haven't studied it in detail but it seemed a little too crunchy for my tastes.
