« on: July 13, 2017, 06:52:54 PM »
For my three sons and 3 of my middle son's friends, and they are loving it.  The three friends hadn't played any RPG before. One of them is going nuts for it and his parents say he talks about the game all the time. His mother bought him a D&D shirt (the picture is the cover of the Cook Epert book) and she got me a dungeon master shirt.

« on: November 16, 2016, 06:14:11 AM »
Only a handful of products so far but it's a start. Here is the Hollow World boxed set.

The PoD isn't a boxed set and is all the material put into a single book.

General Discussion / I love Star Trek ships
« on: May 29, 2016, 08:11:42 AM »
Despite not really being into ST as a kid and being a huge Star Wars fan, I must say that I think the Star Trek ships are cooler than the SW ships. I am not sure what it is but I really like them.

General Discussion / Computer recommendation
« on: May 26, 2016, 10:44:28 AM »
At home we have an old laptop that was the cheapest we could find at the time. I don't use it much. Outside of work I mainly just use my iPad for computing needs. However as the kids get older we need a higher quality computer at home for them to do their home work and such. The current computer takes forever to just boot up. Worst than it use to but it was never very good.

So what are the recommendations for a good quality computer? We don't do computer gaming but it would be nice for something that would handle something like complex spreadsheets and my wife likes to use photoshop and maybe some video editing.

The second recommendation I am looking for is the best way to get my kids involved in computing programming. Their ages range from 10-15. Any suggestions here?

Star Frontiers / Star Trek Ships for Knight Hawks
« on: May 01, 2016, 06:09:01 PM »
I am looking to use some Star Trek Heroclix minis for the Star Frontiers KH ships.  I started down this path a few years ago but never took it very far and lost my notes but have decided to re-look at it again.  It would really be  ST setting (non-canonical version) with SF rules. So here is what I have:

Bajoran Interceptor = Assault scout
Defiant class = Frigate
Excelsior class = Destroyer
Intrepid and Promethius classes = light cruiser
Nebula class = Heavy cruiser
Galaxy class = Battleship
Probably won't use fighters, assault carriers, or mine layers

For the Klingons
Raptor class = Frigate
D7 Cruiser = destroyer
Birds of Prey = Light Cruisers
Vor'Cha class = Heavy Cruiser
Nehg'Var class = Battleship

For Romulans
Scout ship = Assault Scout
Warbird = Battleship

For the Cardasians their standard warship would probably be heavy cruisers. Still thinking about this one.
