Sorry, no offense intended.  I like the title.  Generic works far better than hard to pronounce fantasy names for me.  Red River, Black Forest, Forgotten Temple etc.

It's name reminds me of Dr Doom's Doom Hammer of Doom.

The list of what is missing makes me a bit sad.  Most of the basic books I have been waiting for are on it.  I thought they had been skipped because of low sales.

There are several problems with this.  I bet the whole thing is just to avoid the labour and finance department nuisance of getting Hasbro staff to buy stuff on ebay.

The biggest problem is the lack of a guarantee.  I would happily buy a copy of something I wanted to buy digitally, get it scanned and send it in, if I knew I was getting the $50.  I would expect to break even, and then get what I want, a digital scan for $5 or $10 instead of the $50 it would cost to buy and scan the item.  However, if after spending $50 to buy a copy and get it scanned, I was stiffed on the repayment, it would be a waste of both time and money.

By the way, I have spent about $50 each buying and scanning the 1E core books - this is a good estimate.  I had to buy the books on ebay, get them shipped to Canada, then re-ship them to 1dollarscan and pay for the scanning.  To get great PDFs of my favourite books, this was well worth it to me.  For secondary books, I would not bother.

Since I did this, the PDFs of 1E, 2E and 3E core books have been offered on dndclassics.com, but they are problematic.  For whatever reason, they PDFs do not render on my Kindle or Sony ereaders at all, and take five minutes to turn each page on my phone and tablet.  This makes them useless, while my custom scans, and my old Paizo PDFs work find.  No idea what Hasbro is doing wrong here.

edit:  I re-read it.  It is $50 'credit', not a $50 payment - that's not so good.
